A Brave new GM
The Hawthorn Basketball Association (HBA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Brock Rogers to the role of General Manager.
The HBA have secured the services of the former Bendigo Basketball Association and Bendigo Braves, Executive Manager, who oversaw the successful 2016 SEABL National Championship winning Braves Program.
Rogers comes to HBA with a wealth of experience in the sports industry, having previously worked for national, state, and local sporting authorities in sports such as; Motor Sport, Aussie Rules, Soccer and Basketball.
Rogers also brings with him a great understanding of facility development, along with a proven track record in growing participation and the ability to create additional revenue streams.
HBA President, Richard Wraith is pleased with the appointment.
“The HBA are excited to have Brock on board, he brings a great amount of experience to the role and is the right person to lead the organisation during this next phase”.
“He has a strong understanding of the process involved in facility development which was a key strength and major priority for the Association” said Wraith.
Rogers is equally excited about the opportunity that has presented itself at HBA.
“I am excited about the opportunity to implement the key learnings from my time in Bendigo to help the HBA continue to build upon its recent success and its standing within the Victorian basketball community”.
“I understand the challenges facing the HBA, and I am very keen to commence work by building strong relationships with key stakeholders in pursuit of a new Stadium for Hawthorn Basketball” said Rogers.
With the new General Manager now in place, the HBA can now concentrate on delivering their new Strategic Plan with a key emphasis on meeting the demand for additional courts in their growing competitions through continuing to build relationships with local stadium owners and with the Council on new facility development.
